  1. My bank has a voice recognition system. It says “say in a few words what your inquiry is about and I will direct you”. If they had used the passive voice it would not have sounded so false.
    I had to deal with one of those systems when trying to get a timetable when I was in Ireland a decade ago. I had massive tooth pain at the time and ended up slamming the phone down. It was a payphone so the call was hurting two ways.
